SOBRE LA ASIGNATURA

1.- ¿EN QUÉ CONSISTE LA ASIGNATURA?

In CTLLI you will read and analyse closely literary texts in English and learn how to comment on them. Together with practical examples of modern literature in English, CTLLI will also introduce you to some of the most important critical and literary theories of the 20th century. Applying these theories to the literary texts will be a central part of the course’s objective. You will also be introduced to certain critical vocabulary.

Do not expect to find a conventional «Comentario de textos» subject. The focus is on critical analysis but specific material on stylistic devices, literary terms, formal and textual analysis on fiction and poetry will be provided in the virtual course in the form of videos, and links to the University Library Database LION (Literary Online).

The entire course will be taught and assessed in English and we recommend all students to address emails and debates in the virtual course in English.

CTLLI will strengthen literay and critical strategies and skills that will be used throughout the Grado en Estudios Ingleses, and this is the reason why it is a vital and important course that will set foundational knowledge for students. It will ask you to think about the relation between critical theory, close reading and literary texts and you will be introduced to certain concepts such as feminist critical theory or poststructuralism, being able to discuss these ideas in English

HORARIO DE TUTORÍAS EN EL CENTRO Y HORA DE GUARDIA.

Las tutorías son los martes a las 17.35 y el horario de guardia a las 19.30

2.- ¿ES NECESARIO UTILIZAR EL LIBRO? ¿PUEDO ESTUDIAR CON APUNTES DE INTERNET?

Sí, es fundamental usar los libros que el equipo docente ha elegido para trabajar la asignatura

3.- ¿HAY QUE IR A CLASE? ¿CÓMO Y CUANDO SON LAS TUTORIAS?

Aunque las tutorías no son obligatorias, se recomienda la asistencia a las mismas ya que constituyen un apoyo fundamental para el alumno ya que el profesor-tutor trabaja los contenidos y realiza prácticas que, sin duda, repercutirán en el éxito a la hora de aprobar la asignatura

4.- ¿ES IMPORTANTE/ÚTIL LO QUE PONEN EN ALF?

Muy útil debido a que el equipo docente ha puesto a disposición del alumno los materiales y los solucionarios para trabajar la asignatura

CONSEJOS DEL TUTOR SOBRE LAS PEC’s, LOS EXÁMENES Y LA RELACIÓN ENTRE ELLOS.

Se recomienda realizar la PEC por dos motivos, uno porque contribuye a la nota final y otro porque es fiel reflejo de lo que se va a pedir en el examen final

6.- RECOMENDACIÓN DEL PROFESOR-TUTOR AL ALUMNO.

I.- PLANTEAMIENTO GENERAL
La asignatura se plantea de manera dinámica, participativa e interactiva con el tutor y con los compañeros. La idea es seleccionar textos para comentar en las tutorías, para ello es fundamental que el alumno tenga conocimiento de antemano sobre la teoría
